Relocation of SCMP: MCIPS and CPSM Designations

PMAC has completed its evaluation of the requirement for the MCIPS designation of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), and requirement for the evaluation of the CPSM designation for the Institute of Supply Management USA (ISM), and have established that the requirement for the SCMP designation is equivalent to the requirement for the MCIPS and CPSM designations. Both CIPS and ISM did a similar evaluation and concluded that their designation requirement was equivalent to the requirement for the SCMP designation.

PMAC has entered into the following agreement with both CIPS and ISM:

  • A holder of the SCMP/p.g.c.a. designation who relocates to England is eligible upon application to CIPS, to be awarded the MCIPS designation. The SCMP holder must pay CIPS membership dues and agree to abide by CIPS rules and regulations for members.
  • A holder of the SCMP/p.g.c.a. designation who relocates to the USA is eligible upon application to ISM, to be awarded the CPSM designation. The SCMP holder must pay ISM membership dues and agree to abide by ISM rules and regulations for members.
  • A holder of the MCIPS designation who relocates to Canada is eligible upon application to a Provincial or Territorial Institute, to be awarded the SCMP or p.g.c.a. designation. The MCIPS holder must pay membership dues to the Institute and agree to abide by the Institute rules and regulations.
  • A holder of the CPSM designation who relocates to Canada is eligible upon application to a Provincial or Territorial Institute, to be awarded the SCMP or p.g.c.a. designation. The CPSM holder must pay membership dues to the Institute and agree to abide by the Institute rules and regulations.
